The Good Morrow - a summer concert at 7.30pm in Malmesbury Abbey.
This special evening is named after John Donne’s famous poem. Themed on love, our programme has as its backbone the beautiful Mass in E flat for Double Choir by Josef Rheinberger.
Around movements of the Mass are pieces that evoke sentiments from the poem, including music by James Macmillan, Roxanna Panufnik, Bob Chilcott, Britten’s Five Flower Songs and some lighter arrangements.
We are particularly pleased to be giving a world premiere of new work written especially for us by Alissa Firsova: a setting of the poem The Good Morrow itself.
Tickets cost £18, with a special price of £5 for students. They are available from the Malmesbury Abbey Music Society website.
