Joanna L'Estrange: Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?

We are incredibly pleased to present a world premiere of a delightful new piece by Joanna Forbes L'Estrange. This setting of Shakespeare's sonnet number 18 was comissioned by Clare Porter in memory of her late husband, Michael.

We recorded this music in May 2020 in our own homes, under lockdown conditions, using a mixture of mobile phones, webcams and other domestic recording devices.

If you enjoy this recording, please consider making a donation (via our JustGiving page) or becoming a friend. We currently have no concert income and we hope to continue to meet online until we can meet again in person.

John Sanders: My beloved spake

This choir favourite was written by John Sanders, former organist at Gloucester Cathedral. It deserves to be better known.
